X Ambassadors Celebrate 10 Years of VHS with Reimagined Album VHS(X) and Fall Tour

ree

Multi-platinum alt-rock trio X Ambassadors are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their landmark debut album with the release of VHS(X), a fully reimagined version of VHS, available now on all streaming platforms. The new record breathes fresh life into fan favorites including “Renegades,” “Unsteady,” and “Jungle”—which arrives with a brand-new visualizer—alongside every track from the original album, carefully re-recorded and reimagined for a new era.

Frontman Sam Nelson Harris reflects on the process: “In re-imagining and re-making this album, we got a rare chance to re-write our history a little bit. The original process of making this album was so chaotic—recording backstage, in green rooms, bathrooms, even in our van—while scrambling to finish after the success of Renegades. This time, we got to slow down, all be in one place, and just create for the sheer love of it, like when we were kids in our parents’ basements.”

To mark the release, the band will embark on the VHS(X) Tour this fall. The headline run kicks off September 2 in Phoenix, AZ, and will include stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, Brooklyn, Atlanta, and two special hometown shows in Ithaca, NY. Tickets and VIP packages are available now at xambassadors.com/tour.

About X Ambassadors:

Formed in Ithaca, NY in 2007 by brothers Sam Nelson Harris (vocals, guitar, saxophone, bass) and Casey Harris(piano, keys), later joined by drummer Adam Levin, X Ambassadors rose to global prominence with their 2015 debut VHS. The Platinum-certified record produced chart-dominating singles “Renegades” and “Unsteady”—amassing over 1.6 billion streams on Spotify—and launched the band into a three-year world tour.

Since then, X Ambassadors have continued to evolve, releasing ORION (2019), Belong (2020), The Beautiful Liar (2021), and the collaborative project (Eg) (2023). Their music has been featured in major films including Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (“Deep End”), Transformers (“Torches”), The Call of the Wild (“Great Unknown”), and Suicide Squad(“Sucker for Pain”). Beyond the band, Sam Nelson Harris has built a prolific career writing and producing for artists such as Rihanna, Lizzo, Travis Scott, SZA, Maren Morris, and Eminem, while also launching his own solo music.

Most recently, X Ambassadors returned to their roots with Townie (2024), a deeply personal album that paints a vivid portrait of their upstate New York hometown. Now, with VHS(X), the band looks back on their origins while stepping confidently into the future.
