THE PRETTY RECKLESS RELEASE NEW VERSION OF 'ABOUT YOU' FEATURING FOO FIGHTERS' DAVE GROHL AND PAT SMEAR
The Pretty Reckless has released a new reimagined version of their track "About You" featuring Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. "About You (Bonus Version)" is a reimagined version of the song taken from the band's fifth studio album DEAR GOD and now available to stream.
Grohl offers drums, guitar and backing vocals to the new version, coupled with Smear on guitar. Three of today's biggest rock stars are on this record, frontwoman Taylor Momsen remembers the recording session as having been 'so excited to do it with my friends and make something great'.
"About You" was another track Momsen loved on the album, which is what led her to invite Grohl and Smear to join her on the new recording. "It was a really fun experience," Momsen said. "I think it was a really quick and easy thing to get into the studio and play."
It continues a recent run of chart success for the band, whose latest album, DEAR GOD, continues The Pretty Reckless' streak of wins at rock radio. The album's lead single, "When I Wake Up," cemented the band's status as the act with the most No. 1s for a female group on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.

The band has also been on a blistering tour schedule. After wrapping up their headlining North American tour during the DEAR GOD tour, The Pretty Reckless completed their time on the Power Up tour supporting AC/DC, resulting in nearly three years on the road with the legendary band.
The band most recently performed at the GRAMMY Museum, where they created a deeper understanding between fans and their music, as well as their process. Momsen has a stronger connection to Soundgarden, as she joined them for their season debut last month at the Seattle Seahawks game. She recently participated in a tribute to Soundgarden at the 2012 Power to the People Festival with Matt Cameron, Mike McCready, Tom Morello and Robbie Mangano.
The Pretty Reckless are set to embark on the European leg of the DEAR GOD tour. After a fresh take of "About You" kept the collab train rolling for the album's campaign, the band are cruising on a year of chart-topping hits, main stage performances, and new music.
A band that has been rallying for years to solidify their spot in modern rock, this new version is just another opportunity to hear Momsen and her band perform with some of the other artists who have contributed to modern rock. Grohl and Smear's contributions add a new layer of musicians to the mix but still put the focus where it belongs: on a song Momsen has called one of her favorites on DEAR GOD.
