Following the success of their debut album, Metamorphosis, the enchanting quartet THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON embarks on a new journey. Their latest single, “Can’t Catch Me Now,” takes them into the sinister world of Panem. This song is a rendition of pop star Olivia Rodrigo’s original contribution to the soundtrack of the Hollywood blockbuster The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON originated from a bet between Melissa Bonny, the singer of AD INFINITUM, and Hans Platz, the guitarist of FEUERSCHWANZ. The challenge was that whoever lost the bet would owe the other a “dare.” When Hans won, he dared Melissa to record a metal version of “Jenny Of Oldstones,” which sparked the beginning of their collaboration!

This talented band explores the fantastical lives of iconic pop culture heroes from their childhoods, transforming soundtracks from well-known movies, TV shows, and video games into powerful metal tracks for their debut album, Metamorphosis. They don’t limit themselves to just cover versions; they also include original songs dedicated to their favorite heroes.

One such track, the harmonious "The Gates of Time," narrates the story of time-traveling portals from the popular “The Legend of Zelda” series. The band reinterprets “May It Be,” a Grammy-nominated soundtrack from “The Lord of the Rings,” featuring Charlotte Wessels (ex-DELAIN), giving it a fresh perspective. Additionally, they present the mystical song “Misty Mountains,” featuring Tom S. Englund of EVERGREY, from “The Hobbit” film trilogy, which emphasizes the tragic narrative through melodic folk vocal lines and exhilarating guitar riffs.

Like the seven untamed seas, their melodies flow in energetic and powerful waves, while others move gracefully with an exciting and soulful rhythm. By exploring the lesser-known aspects of these carefully selected songs, the multinational band reinvents renowned soundscapes, taking listeners on new adventures that evoke forgotten times.
