TEARDROPS ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF THEIR FIVE-SONG EP "SOMETHING TO CRY ABOUT" VIA IODINE RECORDINGS ON JULY 26. THE BAND HAS ALSO SHARED A VIDEO FOR "IN MY SLEEP." — WATCH
The band has released the music video for their song "In My Sleep." This track is a vibrant and captivating example of post-punk, exuding a gloriously noisy and memorable energy. If you're a fan of bands like Soft Kill and METZ, then TEARDROPS is definitely a band worth checking out.
"The most unsettling dreams of my life began when our children began to walk and talk," shared Jebb Riley of the band. "These dreams were exceptionally intense, intricate, and frightening, surpassing any previous experiences I'd had. Upon waking, I would find myself in tears, struggling to discern reality from the terrifying creations of my mind.
In these moments, I found myself confronted with the immense suffering I had inflicted on others. I felt their pain deeply and witnessed the sorrow I had caused. I could do nothing but bear the weight of being the one responsible. It was as if my mind was cautioning me, reminding me not to harm these individuals. It was a sobering realization that our actions have lasting effects. This heavy subject matter lay beneath the surface of a beautiful melody.
When we invited guitarist Joe Thomas to join us, he brought with him a powerful concept: the juxtaposition of dark, haunting lyrics within a catchy or beautiful melody. It's like the unsettling truth of your worst nightmare lurking beneath the surface of what you anticipate to be a tranquil night's rest."
