The band Skillet has just released their song on digital streaming platforms and it will start playing on Active Rock Radio from August 20. With over 22 million albums sold and 24 billion global streams, the band has been nominated for a Grammy.

They have recently received RIAA Gold Certifications for their songs "Stars" and "Legendary." The Skillet App has just been launched, offering early access to tickets, exclusive content, message boards, and more.

The band will be touring with Seether starting next month. Earlier this week, Billboard announced that Skillet will be releasing their first independent record, "Revolution," on November 1st.

The new song was previewed in the recently released SKILLET app, which is now available to fans. The app offers early ticket access, exclusive content, message boards, and more. The song "Unpopular" exudes confidence, with a strong emphasis on a hard-hitting guitar groove and a swaggering rhythm. It's set to make an impact on Active Rock Radio starting August 20th.

Skillet's lead singer, John Cooper, explains that the song "Unpopular" carries a lighthearted tone with a clear message about the increasing sense of disconnection and loneliness in society. He emphasizes that people used to have a sense of belonging within their communities, but the shift to online interactions has contributed to feelings of isolation. Cooper also reflects on the influence of powerful figures who dictate societal norms and expectations, often labeling individuals as "unpopular." Despite these pressures, he believes that there is a shared desire for freedom and unity among people.

As for the band's accomplishments, Skillet has garnered two GRAMMY® Award nominations, received a Billboard Music Award, and achieved three albums in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200. With over 22 million units sold worldwide and 24 billion global streams, the band has earned multiple platinum, gold, and multi-platinum RIAA certifications for their singles and albums. This summer, Skillet received new RIAA Gold certifications for their tracks "Legendary" and "Stars," adding to their impressive list of achievements.

After a successful 20-year tenure with Atlantic Records, Skillet transitioned to an independent path, choosing to operate without the constraints of a major label. This newfound freedom allowed them to craft their latest album, "Revolution," at their own pace while drawing inspiration from their experiences on the road and in various studios. Collaborating with esteemed producers and band member Korey Cooper, the album features a diverse musical landscape, blending arena anthems with nostalgic elements that represent Skillet's distinctive sound.

Thematically, "Revolution" challenges the prevailing sense of nihilism and materialism in today's culture, addressing issues such as depression and teen suicide. Cooper sees the album as a call to stand up for beliefs, advocating for a revolution of love, understanding, and tolerance. This message of unity and empathy is also symbolized in the album cover, featuring a Skillet flag alongside a reference to 1 Corinthians 13:13, which emphasizes the importance of faith, hope, and love.

Looking ahead, Skillet is gearing up to share their new music with fans during their fall tour with rock band Seether and their inaugural tour of the Middle East in November, where they will perform in countries such as Turkey, Kazakhstan, and the United Arab Emirates. Following these shows, Skillet will join Black Stone Cherry for a series of performances across the UK. Tickets for these events are already available for purchase, offering fans the opportunity to experience Skillet's powerful live performances. For all shows are now available at Skillet.com.
