President seemingly took over the metalcore community after making a sudden appearance on one of the Download Festival posters. After much speculation, the band released their first single over the summer and has since announced their first EP will release on September 26th. Before the full EP is released, the band has surprised fans with the release of another single off the forthcoming EP, “Destroy Me”. You can watch the music video for the single here!
The name for the forthcoming EP, King of Terrors, stems from the bible. While the EP has many themes, “Destroy Me” focuses on one of the more central ones, death. This song has a lot of the electronic influences that can be heard in the other three, but it's more prominent. On top of this, the first couple of verses are performed as a rap as opposed to being sung. While none of the songs following “In the Name of the Father” has hit quite as hard for more, this song still has a lot of promise.
President has already made a strong impact on the metal industry with many people having polarizing opinions on whether or not the band should be categorized as metal. Well, with 871.2K monthly listeners in just a few short months, they seem to have found their audience.
President fans are already running rampant as the band begins to embark on their first tour. They will be headlining several dates across the U.K. and Europe. On top of this, they are also hitting two dates in the U.S., New York on December 5th and Los Angeles on December 8th. If you want to try your hand at getting resale tickets, may the odds be ever in your favor; these tickets sold out immediately during the presale.
