Poppy Releases First Solo Single of 2025: “Unravel”

Pop-metal singer Poppy has just dropped “Unravel,” her first original, solo single of the year via Sumerian Records. This comes just under two weeks after putting out a Spotify-exclusive cover of “Last Christmas” on October 15 and a little over a month and a half since “End of You,” in collaboration with Amy Lee of Evanescence and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox

Poppy also released a “visualizer” (though it is more of a full music video) to accompany “Unravel,” which can be watched HERE.

Unlike “End of You,” “Unravel” is much cleaner and emotionally driven. The song only has one small section of screaming for a quick breakdown near the end. It calls back to her roots in pop/electronic music, harkening back to the time when she began to transition into a primarily metal musician.

The music video/visualizer shows Poppy sitting on a windowsill watching as a tornado comes closer and closer. It was directed by Sam Cannon, and the song was produced by Jordan Fish, formerly of Bring Me The Horizon.
