Just over a week ago, the Richmond, Virginia groove metal legends Lamb of God released their fourth and final teaser for their up and coming album ‘Into Oblivion’ titled ‘Blunt Force Blues’.
The band's forthcoming 8th studio album is set to release on the 13th of March and will come with 6 not yet seen songs to make a thrilling 10 track groove metal masterclass. The newest and last teaser for the album comes in the form of their song ‘Blunt Force Blues’ which comes with a vengeance. This song is quintessentially Lamb of God, featuring hefty vocals, chunky riffs, and plenty of double bass to go around. The band's lead guitarist, Mark Morton commented on the new song and album as a whole, saying “For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively. It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let's just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.”

With those words from Mark, you can really tell that he means it just by listening to it yourself, the song really does take you back to the bands earlier days of albums such as ‘Ashes of the Wake’ and ‘Sacrament’. From the guttural screams of Randy Blythe, the band's ever powerful frontman, to the tight-knit guitar melodies of Mark Morton and Willie Adler, the complex groovy bass of John Campbell and the hard hitting kicks of Art Cruz. When all of this comes together it shows the band truly is on form and ready to make a statement with this Album, saying “We may be the old dogs, but we still have new tricks”, Which I think personally is awesome to see.

On top of this release, the band announced a North America tour starting mere days after the release of the Album on March 17th kicking off at the National Harbor Theatre in Maryland, and finishing up with a double header of Danny Wimmer Presents festivals of Sonic Temple on the 9th of May and Welcome To Rockville on the 17th May respectively before kicking off their run of UK and Europe Festival dates over the Summer and Autumn.
