Kittie Announce Seventh Studio Album "Fire", Release New Single "Vultures"

The original Queens of Metal are back! After over a decade of anticipation, Kittie have ignited the metal world with the announcement of their forthcoming studio album, "Fire." This release marks the band's first full-length album in over 13 years, following their 2011 record "I've Failed You," and it signifies both a return to the scene and a new era for the Canadian quartet. "Fire" is slated to release on Friday, June 21st via Sumerian Records.

The album announcement was partnered with the debut of the band's latest single, "Vultures." This single stands as the third testament of Kittie's resurgence, following the releases of "Eyes Wide Open" and "We Are Shadows" earlier this year. The heavy hitting track was accompanied by a music video showcasing live footage of Kittie's recent performance at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, NV on April 27th, serving as a preview of the inferno to come.

Speaking on the album announcement and the band's latest single, vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander reflects on the journey that led the band back to the studio after a decade-long hiatus. "10 years ago, if someone would have told us that we would be releasing new Kittie music in 2024, we’d have dismissed them right away," she reveals.

Lander hints at a force beyond mere coincidence as contributing to Kittie's reunion, stating "It feels like something deeper than fate that’s brought us together again, allowing us to create something fearless and magical for you. We've worked incredibly hard over the past year, and surrounded ourselves with the ultimate dream team to make this album a reality."

"Vultures" carries a potent message and is, as Lander explains, "a warning to those with hidden agendas, who thrive on deception." She elaborates on the song's meaning further, stating, "It’s a proclamation of breaking free of the chains of exploitation and a reckoning for those who pick at the bones of those who suffer in silence."
