On September 20th, I Prevail released “True Power (Expanded)”, a deluxe edition of their 2022 hit album “True Power”. The new release features stripped versions for three of the original record’s tracks, and a new single.
The new track, “Hate This Song”, is a collaboration with pop-rock band All Time Low. The track intricately combines All Time Low’s pop-inspired upbeat melodies with I Prevail’s signature brutal vocals and breakdowns. Meanwhile, the tracks “Bad Things”, “There’s Fear in Letting Go”, and “Deep End” got softer, stripped-down reimaginings, bringing new perspective to the fan-favorite songs. “There’s Fear in Letting Go” becomes more cinematic with orchestral-sounding instrumentals, fitting for the opening song of the album. The emotion of “Deep End” was heightened with the quieter rendition of the track, and the heavy, distorted guitars of “Bad Things” were replaced with soft yet catchy beats.
About “True Power (Expanded)”, Eric Vanlerberghe said "When writing and working on these songs, we had fun envisioning some of these songs in different ways. So instead of just giving you a few acoustic tracks, we reworked some of our favorite songs into something familiar yet different.”
