Steamhammer/SPV is excited about their newest signing, Finnish rockers FIRE ACTION!
Olly Hahn, head of Steamhammer, about comments:
"Fire Action's music combines the elements of 80's hair metal bands like Ratt, Stryper, Vinnie Vincent Invasion, and Dokken with the speed and thrash metal of that era, similar to King Diamond. I have never heard anything like this before. I'm sure that after the release of the new album, the band will become a favorite not only among media personalities but most importantly among all hard music lovers with discerning taste."
Before the formation of FIRE ACTION, lead singer Pete Ahonen was already a well-known figure in the metal scene worldwide due to his previous bands Burning Point and Stargazer, both of which have extensive catalogs.
About the signing, Ahonen shared this:
"I have nothing but immense respect for Steamhammer/SPV. They are definitely one of the greatest labels with legendary releases, and I find it unbelievable to be on the same label as one of my all-time favorite bands, Running Wild. I am honored to be a part of their great roster."
FIRE ACTION founding member Juri Vuortama adds:
"We are thrilled to begin working with the renowned record company Steamhammer. After having a 45-minute conversation with label head Olly Hahn about 80s and early 90s metal (via landline, of course), I was completely confident that Steamhammer/SPV is the perfect home for FIRE ACTION." (This refers to the band's final independent release, 9112, in 2020.)
Expect the upcoming FIRE ACTION album to encompass sledgehammer mid-tempo metal, 186 bpm shockwaves, and powerful ballads. The album is set to release in Autumn 2024, and more information will be coming soon!
