Gore. Announce New EP “...Then You Cannot Love Me”
Texas-based metalcore powerhouses Gore. have been one of the bands that have snuck up on people. They just finalized a U.S. tour supporting Kittie and now are planning to head out to support I Prevail on their U.K. European run. Despite all the touring they have been doing, the band has finally announced their next release.
Last year, the band released their EP, “If You Do Not Fear Me…” and it was a major success. Earlier this year, Gore. released their first single to follow it up, “Lead Me To The Slaughter”. Now, they have released their second single, “Crucified”. In addition, they have announced their third EP in as many years, “...Then You Cannot Love Me”.
In speaking about their latest single, lead singer Haley Roughton stated, "This song is about someone who is so seductive that they lead you right into temptation," says Roughton. "They have you wrapped around their finger, and they know it. You idolize them. You try as hard as you can to resist, but there's something both painful and pleasurable about their presence, so you give into them and whatever chaos you know they'll bring."
This EP is a sister to their 2024 release. Regarding the EP, Roughton said that the meaning behind it is women trapped in relationships with abusive men. In a more in-depth response, she said the ’'conjoining titles nod to similar kinds of damaging relationships too, in which fear and love become inseparable bedfellows whether a relationship is abusive or not. "There's always some form of power dynamic in really unhealthy relationships. Women are taught from a young age that if a man doesn't fear losing you, that he doesn't love you. Men are taught to be nonchalant and not care too much, and so we just grow up with all these wounds that just show up."

The EP will have nine new tracks, including “Lead Me to the Slaughter” and “Crucified”. If the other seven songs are anything like the first two singles, this could be an EP of the year contender.
