Daisy Grenade Invites You for a TASTE of their Sabrina Carpenter Cover and their 2025 Tour Dates

For those who find themselves missing the essence of Pop Goes Punk, look no further, because Daisy Grenade has you covered. The power punk bubble grunge duo of Dani Nigro and Keaton Whittaker have released an alternative cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s Taste. The two turn the sultry pop track into an uptempo, guitar-driven version of the song. It’s perfect for the smudged eyeliner, dyed hair, and Doc Marten girls, who were craving an edge to Carpenter's red lip, sunkissed, summer smash hit.

Beyond musical elements, Nigro and Whittaker put their own creative spin on Taste, turning it into a duet instead of focusing on the one-sided loathing seen within the original. Now, the track feels conversational, nearly argumentative, as each lyric gives the impression the vocalists attempting to “one-up” each other within Taste’s storytelling. Whittaker emphasizes their vision for the track by saying “On a song so clearly about two women, we thought, let’s make this into a duet - what if they’re talking back to each other?”. This sentiment is seen flawlessly within the song's iconic bridge, as if listeners are hearing the climax of the duo's argument, before winding down for the final chorus. Needless to say, Daisy Grenade left quite an impression with their cover, which will certainly be a staple on aux in the cars of alternative girls with pop best friends.

Their cover of Taste isn’t the only gift Daisy Grenade fans are receiving this December. On December 3rd, Pierce the Veil announced Daisy Grenade as the openers on select dates of their 2025 ‘I CAN’T HEAR YOU’ World Tour. This comes with great excitement from the pair, as they themselves are fans of Pierce the Veil. Nearly a year ago, the duo released a cover of Pierce The Veils ‘King For A Day’, which quickly garnered 2.3 million streams, becoming a setlist staple. This, of course, has led to fans online joking about them playing the track on tour before Pierce The Veil themselves get the chance to. Whether that bit will come true or not is hard to say, we’ll just need to Hold on till May to find out.

Daisy Grenade will play 7 dates of the tour, starting on May 13th and ending on the 25th. These dates span across various states in America and include a sold-out date at Madison Square Garden, a venue the duo played earlier in 2023 supporting Fall Out Boy. Tickets to see Pierce the Veil and Daisy Grenade can be bought now via Ticketmaster.
