Hard rockers Conquer Divide have shared their newest single “Bad Dreams”, featuring metalcore powerhouse Of Virtue, shortly before their UK/EU tour dates. The track is available for streaming here and the official lyric video can be watched here.
A hard-hitting track, “Bad Dreams” showcases Conquer Divide’s ability to seamlessly combine catchy choruses and melodic vocals with their signature intensity. Of Virtue’s Tyler Ennis and Damon Tate provide fierce screams that complement the captivating vocals of Kia Taylor. The track is lyrically powerful as well as musically, dealing with the struggle of feeling stuck in one’s own head. The narrator feels helpless as they try to drown out the sounds of their thoughts, while also feeling guilty that they feel that they cannot help anyone else while being so preoccupied with their inner demons. “Bad Dreams” can easily resonate with almost anyone with how universal an experience this is, while also being a rock anthem that will have you headbanging.
On the new track, guitarist Izzy Johnson shares, "We are stoked to bring the next era of Conquer Divide with our new song 'Bad Dreams,' featuring Of Virtue. Lyrically, it touches on the feeling of wanting nothing more than to succeed but being sabotaged by your own thoughts. Analysis paralysis is real and creates cycles that sometimes feel unbreakable, something that we have all individually experienced. Just like our other songs 'Paralyzed,' 'Pressure,' and 'N E W H E A V E N' (that also have introspective themes), we hope this song is something our listeners can relate to and find comfort in. Big thanks to the guys in Of Virtue who made the song come alive, we are blessed to create music alongside such talent."
Of Virtue's Tyler Ennis mentions, "I've been a fan of Conquer Divide ever since I heard 'Messy.' It's an absolute honor being asked to bring both our bands together on their newest single and we're excited for it to finally be released!"
Conquer Divide has a successful new era ahead of them, with two recordings gaining massive popularity at the US Active Rock format. A new version of the band’s hit “Paralyzed” featuring Attack Attack! became the group’s first entry on Billboard rock charts, and the re-release of 10 Years’ track “The Optimist” featuring Conquer Divide’s Kia Taylor also reached over 1 million streams in only a few months after its release.
