After British heavyweights Caskets dropped their single “Make Me a Martyr” back in May, fans could tell that the band was building to something bigger. The band just released their second single, “The Only Heaven You’ll Know” and with it, they announced their third album with the same title. You can watch the music video for the new song here!
When asked about the new album, vocalist Matt Flood was brutally honest, bearing his soul. He stated, “This record is the sound of me falling apart in real time. Every song is a confession. About love that rots you from the inside, about pretending you’re okay when you're drowning, about trying to find peace in a world that makes you feel nothing. The Only Heaven You’'l Know isn't about salvation — it's about surviving the wreckage when it never comes. Grieving the parts of myself I had to bury just to cope. Doing anything I could to block out the noise. This record isn't a cry for help; it's me trying to make sense of the chaos around me, and find a way through to the other side. These songs are my scars, proof I made it through, even when I thought I was doomed."
In both “Make Me A Martyr” and “The Only Heaven You’ll Know”, you can tell this sentiment is true. The depth of emotion that Flood conveys in both of these songs is simultaneously riveting yet heartbreaking. If this is just the tip of the iceberg, with nine more songs left to be released, fans are in for a world of beautiful music, and yet a world of pain.
Both of these singles have been beautiful, and I am highly anticipating the release of their third album on November 7.
