Shortly after the announcement of their upcoming album The Shit ov God, releasing on May 9 via Nuclear Blast Records, acclaimed death metal act Behemoth released a new single “The Shadow Elite”, along with an accompanying music video. Stream the single HERE and watch the video below.
The intense, stylistic video features a performance by the band in a steel cage, surrounded by hundreds of lucky fans who received an invite to the secret location. The video is an embodiment of chaos, both in terms of content and in the filming techniques; quick cuts encapsulate the mayhem of the environment, with fans headbanging and moshing against the cage. The video also features lots of imagery symbolizing confinement, with the cage being the most obvious one, along with chains and leashes. It emphasizes the message of the song, which is an anthem of resistance, assuring that nothing will be able to contain “The Shadow Elite”.
About the single, frontman Nergal shares, "'The Shadow Elite' is the second single and the opening track from our thirteenth album, The Shit ov God. A raw, high-energy anthem with a relentless drive — a banger built for the stage!" He continues, "Lyrically, it's a call to arms — a fearless battle cry for outcasts, anarchists, and free minds to rise. We will not be silenced.
