Avatar Release Re-Recorded Piano Version of "Tower"

The eccentric, self proclaimed “metal circus” Avatar have recently released a piano cover of their 2014 track “Tower”. This recording marks the first time in their career that the band has re-recorded a track. The new rendition is uniquely soothing yet mesmerizing, reminiscent of the original’s haunting essence. Watch the music video HERE and stream the song HERE

"This version of 'Tower' became a special moment in a very special period of our lives," states vocalist Johannes Eckerström. "It feels natural to use it as a way to stop and look back for just a moment before we move forward with full force. It's a thank you to everyone who stands by our side and makes the magic happen."

The original “Tower” was released in 2014 with Avatar’s critically acclaimed fifth studio record Hail the Apocalypse. This re-recording is particularly significant since Avatar neither has ownership nor receives any royalties from Hail the Apocalypse, or any preceding records, since 2015. The band has been in the middle of a legal battle with their former record label Fifth Island Music to reclaim ownership of their work.

Additionally, Avatar is set to begin working on their tenth studio album starting January, with Jay Ruston producing. The record, which follows 2023’s Dance Devil Dance, is set to release sometime in 2025 through their own label Black Waltz Records, which is distributed by Thirty Tigers.

Avatar is also embarking on a European tour opening for the legendary Iron Maiden this summer. Get tickets HERE
