50+ Bands Unite for Massive Tribute to Green Day with All Proceeds Benefit Animal Shelters
A massive tribute to punk rock legends Green Day is on the horizon. Music discovery platform Punk Rock Radar has teamed up with independent label Coffin Curse Records to launch the first installment of their upcoming Tribute to Green Day series—an ambitious, community-driven compilation bringing together more than 50 bands from across the punk, and alternative scenes.
The expansive project celebrates the enduring influence of Green Day by inviting artists to reinterpret songs from the band’s iconic catalog. The compilation features an impressive lineup of contributors including Audio Karate, Ballyhoo!, Krang, and Rabies, alongside dozens of emerging and established acts. Each band delivers a unique take on classic Green Day tracks, resulting in a wide-ranging sonic experience that both honors the originals and pushes them into new creative territory.
Designed as both a celebration and a discovery platform, the tribute offers longtime fans a fresh way to experience songs they know and love while introducing listeners to a diverse roster of artists within today’s underground punk and alternative communities. By reimagining material that has defined generations of fans, the compilation highlights the lasting cultural and musical impact Green Day continues to have on the scene.
Beyond its musical ambition, the project is also rooted in a spirit of giving back. Punk Rock Radar and Coffin Curse Records have committed to donating 100% of the proceeds from the release to local no-kill animal shelters. Benefiting organizations include Young-Williams Animal Center in Knoxville and CARE of DC in Wappingers Falls, helping provide care, shelter, and resources for animals in need.
Pre-orders for the tribute compilation opened Monday, March 2 at 12 PM EST, giving fans the opportunity to secure a copy of what was shaping up to be a highly collectible release. The first installment, limited to 1000 copies, will arrive as two volumes pressed on double LP vinyl, with each color variant carefully designed to echo the visual style and aesthetic of some of Green Day’s most iconic album eras.
