I always get so much joy when a band makes Spokane one of their frequent stops on tours, and it makes me especially happy when I can actually shoot the show when they do come through. This was my third time working with The Devil Wears Prada, and I hope for many more opportunities as they were my first mainstream show.
March decided to go out with a roar when they hit the Knit on the 24th.
The vibes from the start were immaculate, the line wrapped around the building before doors and everyone seemed to be super hyped up and that made me even more excited to be there. Talking to a few people, I found out that this would be their 10th or more time seeing The Devil Wears Prada, and I love that kind of dedication.
Up first was I Promised the World. A post-hardcore band out of Denton, Texas. They formed in 2020 under the name Switch and then in 2023 they were known Sinema until recently switching to I Promised the World. Making up the band is Hunter Wilson on vocals and guitar, Caleb Molina also on vocals and guitar, Mason Nowlin on guitar, Rivers Shutt on bass, Mason Zschau on drums, and rounding out the crew Zain Omar on the keyboards.
Categorized as emo, metalcore, and pop screamo they take inspiration from bands like Sleeping with Sirens, Taking Back Sunday, and Lamb of God, they put on one hell of a show. The moment they came on stage the energy was infectious and riled the crowd up to the point of it almost exploding.

Next up is the English rock band Split Chain! Formed in Bristol in 2023, the lineup consists of vocalist Bert Martinez-Cowles, Tom Davies on the bass, Aaron Black on the drums, and both Oli Bowles and Jake Reid on guitars. Split Chain was formed from the remnants of other local Bristol bands making it a creative melting pot that released their debut single “Get Inside” on April 14th, 2023.
Admittedly, I had never really heard of this band before going into this concert, but I spent quite awhile speaking with one of my fellow photographers about them and now I have added them to my go-to playlist! They have such a good stage presence and their props are so fun!

Last up of the openers is the American pop-punk band Four Year Strong. Formed in 2001 in Worcester, Massachusetts, they’re one of my favorite bands that I grew up with. Being a junior in High School, they really set the standard for music back in the day.
Hitting the vocals and guitars are Dan O’Connor and Alan Day, bassist Joe Weiss, and drummer Jake Massucco. As of the date of the concert, they have released a staggering eight studio albums, with the latest being Analysis Paralysis dropping on August 9th, 2024. They are signed with Pure Noise Records.
It was surreal to see them live, a band that I blasted from my discman while going to and from classes. It was amazing to be able to rock out in the crowd for the last half of their set.

And for the finale of this already amazing set is the always entertaining The Devil Wears Prada. As mentioned before, everything has come full circle as they were the first big band I ever photographed, and it was just as amazing now as it was then. One of my favorite bands for years, I always love being able to witness the coming of a new musical era having followed them since around 2006 when they were still in their Christian metalcore era.
One thing that really got me invested in them was the fact that they named their band after one of my favorite books; The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger.
Formed in 2005 in Dayton, Ohio, TDWP is made up of Mike Hranica on vocals and additional guitar, Jeremy DePoyster on vocals and rhythm guitar, Kyle Sipress on backup vocals and lead guitar, Mason Nagy on bass, and finally Jonathan Gering and Giuseppe Capolupo on keyboards and drums. Releasing a total of nine studio albums, including the recent release of Flowers which was released in 2025.
With such a good mix of new songs and old, I will always be the biggest fan of Ritual, however Where the Flowers Never Grow now has a special place in my playlist. Their whole new aesthetic is so appealing and I love the Midsommar vibes.
