Citizens of Dallas, Texas, fill out the Toyota Music Factory, standing tall and firm with their solidarity for the recent flood in Kerrville, Texas. With the flag waving high on stage, Koe Wetzle opened the night with his famous song “February 28, 2016,” getting the fans up and grooving as the benefit concert came to life. With quotes from Koe such as “If this isn’t a testament to what we are, who we are as a state, I don’t know what god damn Texas means,” the concert showed that even in tragedy, Texas remains united.
Brought together by good music and community, ‘Koe Wetzel & Friends: Stronger Together’ raised a whopping $774,870 and counting in support of the devastating flood, with fans donating to Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and Koe’s fund, Koe Kids. With artists such as Kolby Cooper, Casey Donahew, Mike Ryan, and many others, and quotes such as “I’m so f*ckin’ proud to be a Texan.” being proclaimed from the stage, it truly shows how magical and exhilarating the night was. If you were unable to catch the show, it is up on YouTube, here. You can watch an amazing performance and continue to support and donate to the funds listed above.
