Spite released their first single, “Lights Out” last month. With the new single, they announced their upcoming album New World Killer, which will be released on Halloween. In order to keep up with the anticipation, they have released their latest single, which just so happens to be the title track. They also released a music video for the song, which you can watch here.
This video is a departure from the first one. While the video for “Lights Out” featured a gruesome story, the music video for “New World Killer” is more simplistic. The entire music video is spent in a warehouse as the band performs the song.
When asked about the song, guitarist Alexander Tehrani stated, "'New World Killer' is the conclusion to a looming theme throughout the album — the constant battle between internal monologue and morality in the real world.” The band is not one to shy away from harsh, taboo topics and this song just solidifies that.
“New World Killer” is also the closing track to the album and is a real way to kick you in the gut. If this is how they’re closing out the album, I can only imagine how much the rest of the album will take you for a loop. Luckily, there are only a couple weeks until Spite fans can listen to New World Killer when it releases on Halloween.
Spite will be supporting Fit for a King on their upcoming Lonely God tour through the U.S. The dates are as follows:
