Nashville, TN — Metalcore band SLEEPTALKER has signed with Tough Luck Music has unveiled their atmospheric new track, "Fractures," on July 1st 2026.
Fractures is their first brand new Single of the new year. The last single they released was
"Kingdom Of Glass" that was released back in 2025.
"Signing with Tough Luck Music is a huge milestone for us and something we've been working toward since the band first started. Like most independent bands, we've spent countless hours writing, recording, traveling, promoting, marketing, and investing in ourselves while trying to build something meaningful from the ground up. To have a team behind us that believes in what we're creating and wants to help SLEEPTALKER take the next step is incredibly rewarding.
From the beginning, Matthew Tybor, who co-owns Tough Luck Music, felt like someone who understood our vision for the band and saw the potential in what we were building. SLEEPTALKER unveils a fresh dynamic with "Fractures." The track weaves vulnerability into standout melodies, captivating both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
"Fractures" is a big step in a different direction for us. It's by far the most somber, melodic, and vulnerable song we've released, while still carrying the emotional intensity that's always been at the core of SLEEPTALKER. The song is definitely an experimental sound for us, blending the nostalgic influence of the early 2000s rock and alternative music we grew up on with a modern metal foundation. It felt like the perfect way to capture the emotions we were trying to bring to life.
A lot of the lyrics were written shortly after our vocalist Jamar lost his brother to suicide. At its heart, the song is about regret - the things left unsaid, the mistakes you wish you could take back, and the reality of having to live with those feelings after someone is gone. While the song comes from a very personal place, we tried to frame it in a way that anyone who's experienced loss, grief, or a fractured relationship could connect with.
Working with Spencer Sotelo again as a producer and co-writer gave us the confidence to explore new creative territory. He pushed us outside of our comfort zone and encouraged us to lean into aspects of our songwriting that we hadn't fully explored before. That's something we're carrying throughout this entire next EP. We wanted to challenge ourselves, take more risks, and showcase different sides of the band while staying true to who we are. SLEEPTALKER is a Nashville, Tennessee-based five-piece blending atmospheric textures, progressive songwriting, and crushing modern metalcore into a sound that is as emotionally resonant as it is sonically explosive. Drawing influence from real-life trauma and tragedy, the band balances haunting ambience and soaring melodies with technical precision and unrelenting heaviness.Emerging in 2024 with their debut single "LakeSideDreams," SLEEPTALKER quickly established a distinct identity rooted in themes of grief, loss, reflection, and perseverance.
