VRSTY drop sweet new single ‘Sugar’

New York based collective ‘VRSTY’ who are known for their catchy and hypnotising songs release ‘Sugar’ ahead of their album release in October later this year. Forever effortlessly blurring the lines between genres to etch out their own unique brand of alt pop, hard rock, with a sprinkle of R&B that doesn't have a name but once you hear it you know that it is distinctly VRSTY, that perfectly captures that feeling perfectly in their music.
‘Sugar’ primarily explores the addictive nature of Love. Speaking about the song Joey Tyler states "This song is so much fun,It's probably the most fun I had writing a song — ever. It was very interesting writing the lyrics and trying to find the balance in writing what is essentially a love song about addiction. That is how I've always seen it, at least. I think there's something really wild about the feeling of thinking you NEED something or someone to survive. You want that thing or person in your veins so bad it almost feels like love. Extremely dangerous love, but love nonetheless."
If you’ve listened to VRSTY for long time even in 2015 or just recently since 2020 and their release of ‘Massive’ you will know and appreciate how big and just how much their sound has evolved over the years, even since the release of the debut album Welcome Home - you will hear the levels and boundaries that the band has pulled through to be where they are today.

VRSTY perfectly blend various music genres and they do this fearlessly while, they have always been a band who create some of the best lyrics coupled with intensive riffs and thudding drums. They are a force not to reckoned with and this single along with the new album will be a new and exciting chapter for the band. Personally, I am very excited to see where this will lead them and to all the exciting things this could do for Josh and Co.
