Australia is home to a vibrant heavy music scene, and Northlane’s 2026 Regional Tour is a lively tribute to what makes live performances in this country unique. Accompanied by local heavyweights Reliqa and Inertia, the tour's stop at the Miranda Hotel demonstrated that top-notch metalcore can thrive outside of arenas. After headlining large venues like the Enmore Theatre in recent years, witnessing Northlane return to the cozy, energetic atmosphere of a local pub was truly enchanting.

The importance of a regional tour lies in the attention it brings to the supporting acts. The evening began with an electrifying performance from the progressive metalcore band Reliqa. There’s something truly rewarding about seeing an opening act nail their role perfectly. The four member group knew just how to energize the audience, keeping the growing crowd animated and fully engaged from the very first beat.
Wasting no time, Inertia kept the room sweating with their emotionally heavy take on metalcore. Much like Reliqa, Intertia knows exactly how to work a room, whipping back and forth between fragile, melodic moments and bursts of aggression. The crowd didn't need any convincing either, by the time the band hit their second track, the floor was already tearing open into a mosh pit.
By the time Northlane stepped onto the stage, the Miranda Hotel was buzzing with excitement and the crowd stretched out all the way back to the merch desk. Experiencing a band of this status in such an intimate venue completely transforms the atmosphere. Everything felt electric, closer, louder, and far more intense. Frontman Marcus Bridge once again showcased why he is regarded as one of the top vocalists in the genre, delivering live performances that surpass their studio versions.
Proving exactly how fun a Northlane show gets, Marcus passed the microphone to a fan in the front row to belt out a verse. The second the lines were done, the fan launched backward to crowd surf. As the set continued, the room descended into a frenzy of moshing and singing, and wholesome togetherness. This gig truly felt like a mini arena show and why Northlane is worth all the hype!
