Mayday Parade have officially announced Sugar, the third and final chapter in their ambitious three-part album trilogy. The album arrives on July 24, 2026, marking the conclusion of the band's nearly two-year project and bringing their 20th anniversary celebration to an unforgettable close. Alongside the announcement, the band released their brand-new single, "Weekend Music," accompanied by an official music video. Fans can watch the video here:

"Weekend Music" gives listeners an early taste of what to expect from Sugar, combining nostalgic lyrics with uplifting melodies while showcasing the emotional songwriting that has defined Mayday Parade throughout their career. The track also reflects the band's continued growth as they move into their next chapter. The 10-track album features songs ranging from the driving energy of "Lying To Myself" and the groove-filled "Two Hearts" to the nostalgic title "Sweet Sad Sugar." The record closes with "What Happens Next," ending the trilogy on an open-ended note while hinting at what's still to come.Speaking about the song, vocalist Derek Sanders admitted he initially worried the band had taken on too much by creating three full albums. However, once "Weekend Music" came together, those concerns disappeared. "When we started working on Sugar, I wondered if we had stretched ourselves too far creatively. 'Weekend Music' reminded me that we still had plenty to say. It has the catchy melodies and musical depth I was hoping for, and it's rewarding to still be creating songs we're proud of after all these years."
Produced once again by longtime collaborators Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, Sugar serves as the perfect conclusion to the trilogy. While Sweet leaned into the band's energetic side and Sad explored more emotional and reflective moments, Sugar blends both styles into a collection that celebrates the band's past while looking toward the future.
The announcement follows one of the busiest periods in Mayday Parade's career. During the past two years, the band celebrated their 20th anniversary with their biggest North American tour, performed alongside All Time Low, Simple Plan, and Jack's Mannequin, returned to the Vans Warped Tour main stage, and independently released nearly 30 new songs across Sweet, Sad, and Sugar. With more than 1.43 billion streams, multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, and a legacy that has helped shape generations of emo, pop-punk, and alternative music fans, Mayday Parade continue to prove why they've remained one of the genre's most beloved bands for two decades.
