“I normally tend to write songs from a place of personal experience but every now and then I like to get out of my own head and write about something completely off the wall, and ‘Unholy’ is definitely one of those songs... 'Unholy’ is all about being possessed by a demon and being controlled from the inside out. I tried to tap into what it might be like to feel their presence beneath your skin, influencing your every move and infiltrating your every thought until you’re forced to submit.”
