Hot Topic is bringing its connection to music culture to a new platform with the launch of HOT TOPIC Live, an original performance series filmed inside a custom-built studio at the retailer’s flagship store in Hollywood, California. Designed to recreate the feeling of an intimate live show inside a local Hot Topic, the series combines exclusive musical performances, artist conversations, and social-first content to give fans a closer look at the artists they love.

Leading the launch is Pierce The Veil, who become the first band to perform on the HOT TOPIC Live stage. The collaboration builds on the group’s longstanding relationship with the retailer, making them a fitting choice to introduce the new series. Their complete performance session is available now on Hot Topic’s YouTube channel, with additional clips rolling out across the brand’s social media platforms.

The studio itself reflects the retailer’s familiar aesthetic, featuring a wall of band T-shirts as the backdrop and recreating the atmosphere of a traditional Hot Topic store. Through this setting, the series aims to connect the in-store experience with the online music community, giving established and emerging artists a dedicated space to perform original material and share the stories behind their music.

As music discovery increasingly takes place through short-form video and social platforms, HOT TOPIC Live is designed to offer something beyond a quick introduction to an artist. Each session gives viewers an opportunity to experience live performances while getting a more personal perspective on the musicians, their influences, and what drives their creative work.

“We’re excited to kick things off as the first band to perform for HOT TOPIC Live,” says Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil. “Our band has grown up with Hot Topic since the very beginning, so it’s really cool to see them create a new space for alternative artists like us to bring our songs to life for the fans. The performance was intimate, the vibe in the studio was fun and loose, and the production team worked hard behind the scenes to create something special for everyone watching at home. We hope you enjoy it.”

For Hot Topic, the project represents another step in its longstanding relationship with musicians and the communities built around them.

“Music is in Hot Topic’s DNA - we’re fans first, and our authentic relationships with artists and fans make HOT TOPIC Live a natural evolution in how we show up in the music space,” says Andrea Lewis, Vice President of Marketing at Hot Topic. “This is an exciting new chapter in our connection to music culture, with a stage that’s unmistakably Hot Topic and moments fans won’t find anywhere else. Launching with Pierce The Veil makes it especially meaningful given our longstanding relationship with the band. We can’t wait for fans to watch and feel that energy for themselves.”

Beyond the performances, HOT TOPIC Live will feature several additional segments created specifically for the brand’s audience. Hot Minute puts artists through a rapid-fire question-and-answer session, while My First Band Tee invites musicians to share the stories behind their first band T-shirts. Another feature, Behind the Tee Wall, offers a more conversational look at artists’ music, backgrounds, and upcoming plans.

With Pierce The Veil setting the tone for its debut, HOT TOPIC Live looks to establish a new space for artists across genres to connect with fans through performances and conversations that extend beyond the stage.

Fans can watch the complete Pierce The Veil session now on Hot Topic’s YouTube channel and follow @hottopicmusic and @hottopic for future artist announcements and updates.
