Falling In Reverse Brings The Popular MONstour Tour To PNC Bank Arts Center With Jeris Johnson, Tech N9ne, Black Veil Brides and Dance Gavin Dance

Falling In Reverse, Dance Gavin Dance, Black Veil Brides, Tech N9ne, and Jeris Johnson play at PNC Bank Center on September 13th, 2024.

Starting off the night, Jeris Johnson opens at the lovely and spacious PNC Bank Center. Adorned in Viking-style clothing, Jeris plays songs from his new album Dragonborn

Tech N9ne comes out ready to rile the crowd up, playing songs like “Dysfunctional” “The Industry is Punks” and “Hood Go Crazy”. He even notes “I know this is a rock show, but I can’t NOT play the songs you all made platinum for me”. It was a great mix of alternative and rap. “Straight Out The Gate” features Serj Tankian and I believe Tech N9ne playing it live shows great appreciation to the scene. Tech ends his set with the iconic “Stamina” dance.

Next up, Black Veil Brides pays homage to their roots with songs like “In The End” and “Knives and Pens”. The glam metal band consists of Andy Biersack as lead vocalist, Jake Pitts on guitar, Jinxx on rhythm guitar, Christian “CC” Coma on drums, and Lonny Eagleton on bass. The crew also played “Rebel Yell” which has become a staple cover throughout the years during their live performance and is always a crowd pleaser. As of this past year, Black Veil Brides have delivered fans a brand new single "Bleeders" and as featured on Playbill, they have released a cover of Sweeney Todd's "My Friends". Fans were able to hear "Bleeders" live and if you have not checked out the song, I highly suggest doing so.

Dance Gavin Dance is a post-hardcore alternative band known for experimenting with different types of creative rock music. Andrew Wells as lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Will Swan on lead guitar, Jon Mess giving us beautifully unclean vocals, and Matthew Mingus on drums. Joining them on this tour as rhythm guitar is Sergio Medina, Sergio brought an insane amount of energy to the stage and it was hard to take your eyes off of his charismatic theatrics. The band has wonderful chemistry and flow, Andrew and Jon have well balanced the art of singing and screaming. They played songs such as “Lemon Meringue Tie”, “Speed Demon”, and “We Own The Night”.

Naming this tour Popular Monster is not only fitting because of the album name, Ronnie Radke made it very clear he likes being who he is and loves seeing his fans fill up venues despite any hate he or his band may receive online. The set starts with the jumbo screen showing the band walking from the tour bus to the stage as a fun way to give us a “behind the scenes”, and “Prequel” starts playing as the band comes onto stage. Falling In Reverse consists of Ronnie Radke as lead vocals, Christian Thompson on guitar, Max Georgiev on guitar, Tyler Burgess on bass, and Luke Holland on drums.

If you stood close enough, you could feel the warmth from the pyrotechnics on stage. The metalcore/ rap metal band enjoys a flashy atmosphere from the fire on stage, to playing skits on the screen behind them. Even showing Tiktoks from people who don’t like Falling In Reverse. The band also played “Popular Monster”, “All My Life” where the boys switched to cowboys hats, “Game Over” a song Ronnie likes to call “the worst song I’ve ever written” and of course “The Drug In Me Is You” because it “still REVERBERATES”. The night ends with Tech N9ne returning to the stage as he is featured on the song “Ronald”, joining the band to rap his part. Fist bumps are shared and Falling In Reverse takes a selfie with the whole crowd.
