One of the alternative scene’s most purest and unique gems of a band came through LA last week to rip a gig at the iconic Wiltern Theater for the first time ever. British alt-rock band Don Broco just wrapped up their North American tour earlier this week with one of the final days taking place in Los Angeles. The set was loaded with a perfect blend of the so far greatest hits that the band has in their discography mixed in with newer songs that could potentially be seeing themselves on a new album later this year.
The set included 80 minutes of moshing, and a solid 1800 people belting every word of the set. On top of that, the ocean of people that gathered for this show partook in the iconic t-shirt swinging moment without the band even asking (as they busted out one of their anthems during the encore, ‘T-Shirt Song’).
Very few frontmen in the scene have as much charisma, showmanship, and style as Rob Damiano does. Vintage 2000s Usher shirt and all, he took this 80 minute set and singlehandedly made it feel like it was 40. Guitarist Simon Delaney was as per usual getting his workout onstage with various spins and kick maneuvering while slapping through the Broco discography. Bassist Luke Rayner and drummer Matt Donnelly were keeping everything together in precise fashion.
Included in this tour package was the hip hop metalcore fusion project Dropout Kings, who swept the crowd away with an explosive set. The Arizona natives definitely made a huge mark on the theater as main support, causing mayhem and bars throughout their 45 minute set. They were consistently hyping everyone up throughout the night, ensuring an excited crowd to follow for Don Broco.
Opening up the show was up-and-coming alt-metal artist Sace6 backed by Noah Thomas. For an artist opening up a 2200 capacity theater, a large portion of the crowd was already familiar with their game, providing for genuine headbangs and sing-alongs from the crowd without having to teach them any lyrics. It seems like a no-brainer that Sace6 will be headlining this exact theater in likely no more than a few years from now.
Overall, the Don Broco show was a massive one to start many concertgoers year and sets the tone for what is sure to be a massive year for touring for all three of these artists in the year 2026.
