Whitehall Takes Us To The West Coast With New Single 'Malibu #2'

Brooklyn-based band Whitehall is back with their latest single, Malibu #2—a high-energy indie rock track that perfectly captures the restless nature of life on the road. Known for their dynamic alt-rock sound, sharp lyrics, and catchy melodies, the group—Paddy McKiernan (vocals, guitar), Avery Greeson (guitar), Brennan Clark (bass), and Davis Rowe (drums)—continues to grow while staying true to their roots.

Written while touring the West Coast, Malibu #2 combines sun-drenched guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and a rebellious hook: "I never want to play in Malibu again!" The song delivers a self-aware and somewhat sarcastic take on the ups and downs of a transient lifestyle, building up to an explosive release of distorted guitars and raw emotion.

Bassist Brennan Clark explains, “It’s about using touring and travel as an escape, but realizing your problems still follow you. You come home, and everyone else has grown, but you’re stuck in the same place emotionally. That frustration really comes through in the song.”

This single is the first preview of Whitehall’s upcoming album, dropping later this year. With millions of streams, critical praise from NPR, Alternative Press, and American Songwriter, plus tours alongside Goo Goo Dolls, Arlie, and Carver Commodore, Whitehall is gearing up for an exciting new chapter—one that promises even more energy, evolution, and introspection.
