2024 was a momentous year for Kesha. The pop icon spent the entire year spearheading her own resurgence and doing it all independently. On July Fourth, American Independence Day, Kesha released ‘JOYRIDE.’ via Kesha Records, a revving and spunky track that earned global chart success, sparking a fire behind this new and powerful era. Kesha went on to kill the rest of her summer career, performing a show-stopping run of festival dates, including Lollapalooza, before finishing off the year releasing her second single ‘DELUSIONAL.’, collaborating with Charli XCX on the ‘Spring Breakers’ remix, and playing Capital One’s Jingle Ball.

On March 27th, Kesha came in wearing a bedazzled cowboy hat and last night's makeup to release her newest single, ‘YIPPEE-KAI-YAY. (ft T-Pain).’ The track blends the elements of an acoustic country-esc guitar, aesthetically placed auto-tune, chopped vocals, and a mix of club drums with hollow claps to create a vibe that can only be described as “trailer park chic.” While you may not hear ‘YIPPE-KAI-YAY.’ mixed into a DJ set like you would with ‘JOYRIDE.’, it’s the perfect athem for a summer evening, when piled into a shitty car with your closest friends, windows down, and on your way to an unsanctioned bonfire.
Alongside the release of this single, Kesha announced her long-awaited sixth studio album, . (PERIOD).
