Before I get into the details of the show, I want to start off with the absolute preface that this show was one of the most INTENSE shows I've ever been a part of. From opener to headliner, there was pushing and pulling and crowdsurfing; every SINGLE band brought their A-game to this night, and while IT was not the last stop on tour, it FELT like it.
The first band to take the stage were Diamond Construct and honestly, right from the first note I had no idea what I was in for. Guitars cutting sharp, drums pounding so hard my chest vibrated, bass threading through everything, and Kynan on vocals moving across the stage like he owned every second. I jumped straight into the pit, dodging flying limbs, helping hoist fans with one hand while defending myself with the other, screaming along, laughing mid-chaos, and somehow I LOVED it. Someone even spun and kicked me on accident. Every member on stage absolutely shredded guitars, bass, drums, vocals all of it pure energy.
Next up was Orthodox and immediately the room shifted, heavier, darker, more relentless than anything before. Vocals raw and jagged, guitars cutting, drums pounding, and the pit erupted instantly. Circles forming, breaking, people colliding, a shirt ripped, a drink spilled nearby, punches flying, and somehow it all flowed together. I made my way closer to the barrier for a few shots, bodies flying past me, crowd surfers overhead, and somehow it worked. I don’t even know how I survived some of it, honestly, but every second was wild. Towards the end i watched some dude get absolutely FOLDED and taken out with an elbow.
And finally, Stray From The Path hit the stage and the pit completely lost it. First scream and the room exploded. Andrew Dijorio moving across the stage, commanding attention, guitars, bass, drums colliding into one insane wall of sound. The pit became alive, bodies moving as one, arms flailing, people flying over shoulders, voices hoarse from screaming every word back, chaos everywhere, but somehow security kept it all under control. Dijorio called for crowd surfers taunting us with the fact that Sydney thought they beat us with crowdsurfers and I didn’t even try to count them as they came ONE BY ONE, I was just there, laughing, screaming along, and getting completely soaked in the madness. Every song built intensity higher, and the energy in the venue was unreal.
By the final track everyone was drenched, exhausted, grinning, voices gone but still yelling, hearts racing, and walking out into Melbourne’s night afterward, the energy lingering like electricity in the air. Diamond Construct sparked the night, Orthodox fanned it, and Stray From The Path detonated it. Every push in the pit, every lyric shouted, every chaotic moment made this night unforgettable.
All In all, every HEAVY show I go to genuinely reignites my love for live music and what I get to do. I will forever be thankful.
