On Friday December 6th NO CURE released their new single featuring GIDEON
"I am incredibly proud of this song," Steuer expresses with heartfelt enthusiasm. "I held onto the intro riff for a couple of years, waiting for the right moment, and now I’m overjoyed that it has finally found its place within this project. The way this song has come together is remarkable; it truly encapsulates everything I've longed to express throughout my life. I want to give a special thanks to Dan for lending his voice to this track alongside us." On their latest EP, the band presents a unique and compelling fusion of raw, gritty hardcore music steeped in the underground scene, enhanced by the technical precision typically associated with death metal, all while maintaining an element of explosive unpredictability.
Each track on the EP showcases collaborations with various artists, making it a truly collaborative effort. "Every single track features a contributor who has made a significant impact on the Alabama hardcore scene over the years," the band notes, emphasizing the importance of their community. "While we don't expect every listener to recognize every name on this record, that’s intentional. It’s about celebrating our roots.” As for the overarching theme of the EP itself, the band elaborates, "I Hope I Die Here serves as a poignant love letter to Alabama and the broader Southeastern experience. It addresses themes of suffering while also boldly proclaiming resilience and strength. This record is driven by a concept and demonstrates a wider musical diversity compared to our previous EPs, and that diversity is purposeful. Each song has a deliberate reason for existing.
We delve into various thought-provoking topics, including the complexities of growing up under the restrictions of religious influence, the culture surrounding fraternities, the darker aspects of a cherished local landmark, and the impact of ecological exploitation in our region, among others. We firmly believe that the world does not need another song glorifying reckless behavior, lamenting about hating one’s hometown, or whining about a breakup in which the blame lies squarely on the one who cheated.”
