Mudvayne, a 2000s nu-metal band, cranked the intensity by releasing their first single in sixteen years. Hurt People Hurt People is reminiscent of their signature sound, delivering the brutal aggression fans have craved. Mudvayne’s signature sound has been heavily shaped by cult classics like L.D. 50, and The Beginning of All Things to End, which raised them to prominence within the nu-metal scene. After taking a hiatus in 2010 as a result of burnout, Mudvayne later reunited in 2021 for festival appearances. Additionally, Mudvayne will be kicking off their 25th anniversary tour for L.D. 50 this September, with support from Static X and Vended. Listen to Hurt People Hurt People HERE.
Hurt People Hurt People investigates how we can escape the endless cycle of projecting pain upon others. Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray states about the song, "Hurt People Hurt People has probably been around since the beginning of man. Certainly longer than the phrase ever existed. The endless cycle of projecting our pain onto others. I think I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to break the cycle. We create our own suffering, our own hurt. It's time for us to create self-love and let go of the pain. It was never ours to begin with."
