Kesha, the multi-platinum global pop superstar, has unveiled SMASH, a bold new platform designed to empower music creators by allowing them to connect, collaborate, and retain rights to their work. Co-founded by Kesha Sebert, Alan Cannistraro (CTO), and Lagan Sebert (COO), SMASH aims to disrupt traditional music industry structures that often leave creators with little control. The platform offers a safe, supportive space for songwriters, producers, instrumentalists, and engineers to build professional relationships on their own terms without signing away ownership of their creations.
To celebrate the launch, Kesha has announced a remix challenge for her new single, “BOY CRAZY.” Fans and creators who sign up at smashmusic.io will receive access to track stems and have one week to remix the song. The best remix, personally selected by Kesha, will be officially released on her own label, Kesha Records, later this summer. The song, described by Rolling Stone as “unapologetically sexy,” is part of the build-up to Kesha’s anticipated new album, .(PERIOD), set for release on Independence Day, July 4th.
Kesha’s goal with SMASH is deeply personal. Having battled for over a decade to regain control over her voice and image after signing a predatory contract at 18, she’s now determined to ensure no other artist endures the same experience. "I want to make sure what happened to me never happens to anyone else again," she says, reinforcing her mission to rebalance power in favor of creators.
SMASH is also backed by a powerhouse team. Alan Cannistraro, an Apple and Facebook alum who developed key features like the Apple Podcast app and Facebook's mobile tools, brings extensive tech leadership. COO Lagan Sebert, with a background in media production and artist management, provides strategic oversight. Together, they aim to build a scalable, creator-first platform with features like a collaboration studio, marketplace, and networking tools.

The announcement comes ahead of Kesha’s Tits Out Tour, her largest live tour to date, which kicks off July 1 and includes her first headline performances at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden and the Kia Forum. With support from business advisors like CRUSH MUSIC and Pilot CEO Jessica McKellar, SMASH is set to redefine how music is made and shared—putting the power back where it belongs: in the hands of the creators.
