In Conversation With Belle Haven: Discussing Future Plans, New Music and Life With Kangaroos

It’s a strange thing watching a band grow up in front of you, and for a lot of people in the Melbourne heavy music scene, that’s exactly what Belle Haven have done. They’ve been around long enough to remember tiny, sweaty rooms and DIY tours, but they’ve never stopped evolving — emotionally, musically, and as people.

Hailing from Melbourne, the band’s current core of David De La Hoz, Daniel Marinakis, and Corey Cichowski has weathered plenty of storms, both personal and professional, and somehow keeps finding new ways to reinvent the sound without losing the heart.

Their latest track “it’s not that deep” is a perfect snapshot of where they’re at right now — sharp around the edges, emotionally upfront, and way more thoughtful than the title lets on. It’s Belle Haven doing what they do best: saying the thing everyone else is dancing around, but doing it with a hook that gets stuck in your head for days.

They’ve also just been announced as part of the lineup supporting Parkway Drive, which is massive, and well-earned. Belle Haven might not shout the loudest, but they’ve built something real — and it’s resonating louder than ever.
