Hailing from Belvis, Washington the psychedelic garage band Dead Energy storms across the Pacific Northwest. With Matt and Jerry on the guitars and vocals, Max on the bass and vocals, and Zach on the drums.
“Washed” and “MUMO” dropped earlier this year and hearing those live was on another level. We had the amazing opportunity to speak with them and had just a few questions we were curious about. Max graciously answered our questions and we look forward to hearing more from them in the future!
Q: What is your main inspiration was as an artist?
A: We draw a lot of inspiration from the vibrant music scene here in the Pacific Northwest — big shoutout to our main slimes, Screen Frogs.
Q: How would you describe your style/flow of music compared to others?
A: We’re all best friends who kick it all the time, so making music together comes way more naturally than it does for most bands. The chemistry's baked in.
Q: Do you have any big projects in the works?
A: After dropping our singles “Washed” and “MUMO” earlier this year, we’re gearing up to release our debut full-length album in 2026.
Q: What are your future plans in the coming months?
A: Get signed. Get rich. Crash and burn out. Never speak to each other again, and then come back for the inevitable reunion tour cash grab.
Q: What's been your greatest achievement thus far when it comes to your music?
A: We’ve reached the point where fans are bringing us Pabst Blue Ribbon on stage. So yeah — living the dream. Thanks
Q: What's one message that you would like to give to your fans?
A: Buy our merch so we can buy more Pabst Blue Ribbon — or better yet, cut out the middleman and just bring us the PBR directly.
Q: What would you tell your younger selves? What advice would you give them?
A: Honestly? Just keep up the good work.
Q: What changes would you like to see in the music industry?
A: Mass firing squad for music execs. Metaphorically. (Probably.)
Q: What is the story behind the name "Dead Energy"?
A: We were drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon one night and thought that it sounded cool. So, here we are.
