One of the most legendary punk bands of all time is back with a reissue of one of their definitive albums. Manhattan Beach CA’s own Descendents is reissuing a release of ‘I Don’t Wanna Grow Up’, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The band's sophomore album is considered by many to be a massive influential part in many bands that would follow. Following the success of a reissue from the band doing the same thing with their first album ‘Milo Goes To College’, this one will also be reissued among LP, cassette, and CD variants.
There’s a wide variety of color and splatter patterns that are revealed including but not limited to ‘banana peel’, ‘ocean’, ‘pink’, ‘green bay’, ‘bubble gum’, and ‘purple swirl’, just to name a few. This album which originally dropped in 1985 was recorded right after vocalist Milo Aukerman returned home from college, and what they came up with was a brighter sounding project with catchier hooks than its predecessor. This album is cited by many albums that would take this style of music into the mainstream in the decade that would follow including bands like ‘Blink-182’, ‘Green Day’, ‘Sublime’, and ‘The Offspring’.
Four decades later, this record still tows a very great line between feeling raw and hard hitting, as well as a suitable gateway for listeners just getting into this era of the genre. Pre order details are available at https://bio.to/descendents.
