Currents Surpise Drop New EP 'All That Follows'!

Happy Halloween! It's spooky season time and what better way to celebrate it than with some new music! Just right now, the Connecticut-based metalcore titans Currents have dropped their new EP All That Follows. We knew the band was teasing something for today this whole week but none of us believed it was gonna be a whole new EP drop. Currents gave us a first taste of new music back in July with the release of "It Only Gets Darker", their first piece of new music since the 2023 release of The Death We Seek.

To celebrate the new release, the band have also unveiled the music video for the EP's last track "Rise & Fall".

The three and a half minute video is a compilation of the band's 14 year career, showing footage from the band's humble beginnings, playing barrier-less bar and club shows to the their highs, playing some of the biggest stages on festivals across Europe. All That Follows marks the conclusion of The Death We Seek cycle and a new chapter for the band. The five-track EP is Currents doing what they do best while also exploring new territories and experimenting with different elements. With topics like betrayal and disillusionment, All That Follows is indeed a unique and personal experience.

We kept this close to our hearts and trusted our guts on what we really wanted. These songs are an exercise of independence, experimentation and collaboration within the band to lengths we haven’t gone before. Here, we explore disillusionment, inequality, betrayal, and the ambiguity of life and its purpose. This world can be both a great and terrible place; and good or bad, we pour all of those experiences into our music. While the result is rarely a happy story, sharing it all with you is always such a positive and cathartic experience.
