Creeper unveils macabre new single, “Blood Magick (It’s a Ritual)” in support of their fourth full-length album, Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death. This album is set for release on Halloween. This new single combines their theatrical gothic sound with elements of enchantment and horror; only a small glance of what we can expect on the album.
Serving as a sequel to the original Sanguivore album, we dive into the story of a vampire band ravaging America in the 1980s. William Van Gould (vocalist of Creeper) describes the complex lore behind the song, stating “Beneath the flashing neon of a distant dream, a rock and roll nightmare is coming true. A vampire band rampages across 1980s America, leaving only corpses behind. The Mistress Of Death is a vampire huntress… can she stake their hearts before the final curtain falls?”.
The music video, directed by Harry Steele, dives into the sin infused behind-the-scenes moments of the nocturnal vampire band on tour. It’s a fever dream, soaked in neon and blood, echoing 80's glam band chaos. Gould says the music video is “a blood-soaked, sexed up, psychedelic vampire rock fantasy and easily one of the wildest videos we've ever made." Watch the music video HERE.
