Coal Chamber has announced the cancellation of their upcoming “Fiend For The Fans" tour, as frontman Dez Fafara takes time off to focus on his health. In an official statement shared to the band’s social media, Fafara expressed his regret and offered an explanation for his need to step back from performing.
In his statement, Fafara expressed his appreciation for the support and well-wishes from fans, family, and friends, especially during the recent California wildfires. He also acknowledged his own health struggles, which have led him to take a break from touring for the time being. "At this time, I will be taking down the scheduled touring this year until quarter 4 to focus on my health," he wrote.
While the tour cancellation comes as disappointing news for fans, Fafara emphasized that this decision is necessary for his well-being. “I’m so sorry that these tours have to come down but at this time I’m just not able to go do my job at 100%,” he said. Despite the setback, he assured supporters that he intends to return to performing once he is fully recovered. “My attitude is positive, and when I’m ready I’m gonna get back on the road harder than ever with both Coal Chamber and DevilDriver,” he added.
Formed in 1992 in Hollywood, California, Coal Chamber has been a key figure in the nu-metal scene for nearly three decades. After going on hiatus following their 2003 compilation “Giving The Devil His Due,” the band made a surprising return in 2015 with their album “Rivals” and has since enjoyed successful live performances. Despite the tour cancellation, Fafara reassured fans that both Coal Chamber and DevilDriver have exciting projects in the works for the future.
