Chappell Roan Gives Back With 'The Midwest Princess Project'

Today, Pop Royalty Chappell Roan has announced and launched her brand-new non-profit initiative, ‘The Midwest Princess Project.’ The goal is for this initiative to support organizations that provide resources for trans youth and to uplift other LGBTQ+ communities through direct action, care, and connection. At this time, ‘The Midwest Princess Project’ has already raised over 400,000 dollars alone from Roan’s recent run of her eight Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things pop-up shows. All of these funds will be donated to various organizations, such as the Ali Forney Center and The LGBT Center in New York, the Trans Wellness Center and TransLatin@ Coalition in Los Angeles, and The GLO Center and The Center Project in Missouri.

"I am so excited to announce The Midwest Princess Project! These funds will be donated to incredible organizations making a positive impact for trans youth in their communities.”

-Chappell Roan

This initiative comes as no surprise to most, as Roan has both cemented her status as a trailblazer in pop culture and a fearlessly outspoken voice for marginalized communities. Her sheer existence is a beacon of hope for most, and Roan repays the support by using her platform at every opportunity to help lift up others. In the past, Roan started the ‘We Got You!’ Fund with the support of Backline to provide necessary and crucial resources to artists and their teams. She’s also partnered with Gendered Intelligence and Music Minds Matter to provide gender identity awareness training and mental health resources for tour, provided free therapy for her team, and worked with REVERB and Musically Fed to ensure hers green backend for her tour.

Roan’s activism is no fame-induced phenomenon either, as from her very beginnings, Roan has been a fierce activist for grassroots change, and has actively encouraged fans to visit the tables set up at her shows to learn more about LGBTQ+ access rights, mental health, voter registration, and community involvement in local and global aid. If there is one thing Chappell Roan is, it’s determined to spread queer joy to the world and give back to the community of fans who have uplifted her and inspired her along the way.
