The British heavyweights Bury Tomorrow are back with their fourth single off their new album, Will You Haunt Me With That Same Patience. The album is still two months out, however, you can listen to the fourth song off of it and watch the music video here or below.
The video opens with a person leaning against a wallpapered wall with their ear against it. When Tom Prendergast comes in saying, “Let me feel something”, the words flash across the screen. The image changes to another individual behind a sheer screen. As the song progresses, the images on the screen flash between the person on the screen, x-ray shots, and the person against the wall. Random lyrics come across the screen as well. Once the song reaches the bridge, we see that the person behind the screen is on the other side of the wall. The pair are trying to touch hands, but the wall between them will not allow them to. In the final verse, the audience is shown the screened individual once more as the lyrics flash across the screen. As the song comes to a close, the individual behind the screen flashes once more before the video fades to black.
Frontman Dani Winter-Bates explains the sentiment behind the track, sharing, "'Waiting' is about rebirth, the sense of going through the fire to emerge from the other side. Lyrically speaking, it delves into the lowest points of our lives where everything feels weirdly centered around yourself and in some way your misery, whether that's loss, self-loathing, or poor experiences."
The song itself follows in the steps of the first single, "Villain Arc”. “Waiting” is a heavy hitter, and really gets down to Bury Tomorrow’s roots. If you love classic Bury Tomorrow, you’re going to love this one. It is making me excited for the rest of the album; I can’t wait to see what the guys have left in store.
