ree

On July 23rd, Big Time Rush brings fans down memory lane and brings the Worldwide to life at Northwell Jones Beach Ampitheater in Wantagh, New York. The band is set to perform each song from every single episode from the Nickelodeon TV series 'Big Time Rush'. This tour was with special guests Katelyn Tarver and Stephen Kramer Glickman.

First to kick the night off was the one and only Stephen Kramer Glickman. In case you were unaware who he is, he is the one and only Gustavo Rocque in Big Time Rush. Fans immediately began screaming their lungs off as soon as he took the stage. During his performance, he performed a variety of covers of well known tracks. Throughout the set, he performed a cover of Billie Eillish's "Bad Guy", Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club", The Beatles' "Carry That Weight" and many more.

After Stephen Glickman finished his set, Katelyn Tarver took the stage in the In Real Life Worldwide Tour. Tarver was known as Jo Taylor in Big Time Rush. She made her way to the stage and fans were holding up signs and I have not seen so many fan girls in my life until she went on stage. She began her set with "Hurt Like That", which was released in 2021 from her album 'Subject to Change'. Fans were roaring with the lyrics and the energy was so surreal. Tarver continued her set with songs "Nicer", "Cinematic", "Japanese Cafe" and closed the set off with her latest single "#1", which was released earlier in July. She was discussing with her fans expressing her excitement she felt being on the road as well as showing off her shirt that read "Jo's Beach".

It is finally time for Big Time Rush to take the stage and bring the Worldwide tour to life. Big Time Rush is an American pop boy band based in Los Angeles, California that was formed in 2009. The quartet comprises of members Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson, Carlos Pena-Vega and lastly James Maslow. The band was originally formed from the Nickelodeon TV show 'Big Time Rush', which aired in 2009 and since then, the band continues to create new music. In the television show, the band was referred as the "four dogs" that made music through Rocque Records and took place in Minnesota where the band originally formed in the show. This was the second time I was able to catch the band performing live and was a much better experience considering my last time was when Kendall had COVID.

To start things off, the band had performed their opening track "Big Time Rush", which was the theme song to the television show. The bright screens displayed the video of the theme song, building hype up for what was to come for fans. Halfway through the track, the quartet appeared on the stage on their platforms and the whole venue cheered and honestly I am surprised I did not go deaf from that. The band was not exaggerating when they mentioned how they were going to be performing every single song from every single episode of the series. They've performed tracks such as "Windows Down", "Shot In The Dark", "Any Kind Of Guy", "City Is Ours" and many more. One of my favorite tracks they performed and the most hysterical one was when Glickman was on stage with them and the quartet sung the iconic turd song.

There was also a moment when the band walked off stage and on the side screens was an interlude where they were changing outfits and really bringing the nostalgia. The screens showed Carlos changing into his signature hockey outfit and of course you cannot forget the helmet he wore during the series. Logan was wearing his tree hat that was used to hide from people in the TV series. James was also seen in his signature purple bandana look and so many fans in the crowd was wearing the exact costume. Kendall got placed in a leather jacket and did not seem to impressed to be wearing black eyeliner. During the concert, there was another stage besides the main stage that was used during their performance. I felt reminded of when the band in the show stayed at the Palm Woods and the pool area in the show had a seating area with beautiful lights. Halfway through the night, the band held an acoustic performance on the second stage and I was left in awe with all of the flashlights used and the audience's voices filling the room.

Not going to lie, I kind of cried during the show because it just reminded me of my childhood and this was the show I grew up watching. They continued their performance with hit tracks "Worldwide", "Elevate", "If I Ruled The World", and many more. They also had Carlos in his helmet and was pushing him around with a shopping cart, which made the concert so much better and it was extremely entertaining. To close the night off, the band finished their set with "If I Ruled The World" and confetti was shooting into the crowd, closing off with a happy ending.
