Arcy Drive Ignites The Waiting Room

On Tuesday night, the New York indie rockers Arcy Drive brought their electric sound to The Waiting Room in Omaha, NE. They delivered a great performance of raw energy, with an emotional core. This tour was in support of their 2025 debut album, The Pit. Arcy Drive proved that they’re more than an up-and-coming indie rock band. They’re showing that they are a group that is finding their voice and sound in real time, and it’s been so fun to see how this band has progressed over the last year.

The Waiting Room is a venue that is in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha. The venue was packed with a diverse array of fans, both young and old. The venue’s intimate setup makes for such beautiful indie rock concerts. The venue is a good middle ground for sound to where you can feel the ground shake, but it’s big enough for the sound to fill the venue perfectly. From my experience, the lighting at The Waiting Room has always been amazing. They do a great job of mixing in warm colors with bolder colors as well, without being overwhelming. The amber tones that were used frequently throughout the show were something that I personally always appreciate.

The opening band was Mercury, a newer band to the scene. They had an all-acoustic set because one of the members of their band was unable to be there. I still thought it was an amazing set, and it was something that I really enjoyed. It felt emotional, but still had lots of fun parts. The lead singer of the band took time in between songs to talk to the crowd a little bit, and she is seriously the sweetest person ever. I had the opportunity to talk to her after their se,t and she is amazing. But, nearing the end of their set, she announced that Flipturn asked them to cover their song “Right?”. That song was released at midnight, so the audience heard a cover version of that song, but in an acoustic version, which was so memorable.

Arcy Drive took the stage after, immediately playing songs from their debut album. Setting the tone of their set with driving drum beats and punchy guitars. The frontman of the group, Nick Mateyunas, was commanding attention with his raspy but soulful voice cutting through the mix with so much energy. The other members of the band are Austin Jones on lead guitar, Patrick Helrigel on bass, and Brooke Tuozzo on drums. They all played with such personality and precision. Their chemistry was something that I noticed quickly. They all moved quickly, individually but still together as one; they were locked in.

My personal favorite moments of the night was when they played songs like Louie, Superbloomer, and Time Shrinks.

When their set was coming to an end, the crowd was going crazy and started chanting for an encore. They came back out for a couple more songs, one of them being one of their earliest but most popular songs, Roll My Stone.

Overall, this was a show I am extremely grateful that I got to photograph and be in attendance. They’ve been one of my favorite bands for around two years now. This was their first show I’ve been to and they most definitely did not let me down. If The Pit Tour is coming to your city, do yourself a favor and go. Arcy Drive is a band that is growing very quickly and will be big soon, so being able to see them in an intimate setting felt very special, and I think all of their fans in attendance would agree with me.
