A Review On Not Enough Space’s ‘Weaponize Your Rage’

ree

Not Enough Space, emerging metalcore band hailing from Orlando, Florida has just made an integral move in their career with the release of their debut album, Weaponize Your Rage via Thriller Records. This album truly channels the primitive rage ingrained within their music.  Weaponize Your Rage consists of eleven relentless tracks.

The album opens with the hard-hitting Weaponize Your Rage, reminiscent of their past work, consisting of the duality of clean vocals and throat crushing screams, giving the music its signature sound. Diving into heavy songs such as Devil Left Me On Read and Kill Eat Repeat the band delivers songs tailored to fans of deathcore. Whereas lighter songs with more pop-punk influence such as Waiting 4 U, and Mayday offer the album a balance, proving that there truly is something for everyone on this album.

Instrumentally, the album proves to be just as crushing. The album is evocative of modern metalcore, while also grabbing influence from deathcore, emo, and pop-punk genres. Every note throughout this track is truly bone crushing, carving the emotional depth conveyed within this. The breakdowns on this album are not predictable and cliche, but rather unique and relentless. We see this represented within Primitive, in which the breakdown consisting of the one-second moan led to an internet hit. Additionally, the switch between crushing heaviness and exuberant melodicness offers a versatile listening experience.

Not Enough Space states: "Our debut album, 'Weaponize Your Rage' challenges the idea that expressing anger is a weakness. Instead, it explores how rage can be transformed into a powerful force for personal growth and liberation. The title track sets the tone, capturing the journey of confronting inner struggles and letting go of the parts of your past that no longer serve you. The album is intentionally unpredictable — chaotic and somber at times — to reflect the emotional highs and lows we all experience through different chapters of our lives. We aimed to embrace diversity and nostalgia by blending a range of genres including metalcore, post-hardcore, deathcore, pop punk, and pop rock. Each track on the album taps into a range of emotions, reminding us that our shared experiences can bring us together, no matter how fractured they might feel."

Overall, Weaponize Your Rage is an absolute masterpiece, truly making Not Enough Space stand out within the metal scene. Whether you are a die-hard deathcore fan, or someone who enjoys pop music, there truly is something for everyone within this album. This only proves the versatility of Not Enough Space, showing this album to not be “yet another album release”, but truly the release of an album that has been honed to be the best it can be.
