A Night of Pure Joy: Andy Grammer Brings the 'Big Stupid Heart' Tour to East Texas

Andy Grammer kicked off his Friday night show in Longview at the Belcher Center different than any other show I’ve seen. One of the band members who plays the cello opened up the set with a long solo, it was classical themed. It was definitely different than anything I’ve experienced, but it was a breath of fresh air getting to experience something new. He was silhouetted by light beaming down from center stage. He glowed like an angel whilst playing the cello heavenly.

After his solo, the crowd cheered loudly and while they cheered the star of the show Andy Grammer walked out. The show started off filling the solo of the magnificent cello solo which was apart of the song "Big Stupid Heart", in which Andy continued into as he walked on stage thus introducing the first song of the night. After the first song finished he began to thank everyone for coming out to the Belcher Center for the show; and how he appreciated them. Grammer then started playing "Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)" off his 2024 album 'Magazines Or Novels'. After playing a couple more songs he actually had his guitarist sing a song as well and his stagehand which they both killed it. The crowd loved it as well.

He began to talk with the crowd and talk about how when he first started singing he was a street performer and he said this was the song people loved the most as he began to perform the strays how to save a life. He also began to talk about the different age groups in the crowds and then playing different songs for different generations. For the kids in the crowd, he performed K-pop demon hunters hit song "Golden". He continued to play the stray for the millennial age group and some song I could not recognize for the older generations. After all this he continued to perform his other songs like whose saving who, not the end, and others. Overall he performs very well, very entertaining and energetic. One of the best things about Andy Grammer and his music is you can bring everyone of all ages from your family to the show and they can have a good time. He puts on a family friendly performance and creates a nice environment for all to enjoy.
