156/Silence dropped what was probably one of the most surprising metalcore records in 2024. With People Watching, the band was put on the map, especially with the face on the album cover that they have dubbed “Philip”. Now, the band has announced they are taking the next step in their career: signing with Pure Noise Records. To commemorate the announcement, they have released their latest single “Our Parting Ways”, which you can listen to here! They also released a music video, which is available to watch here!
When asked about the signing, the band stated "Pure Noise has always been a label we have all been fans of so when the option to sign with them was there we couldn’t pass it up. Everyone at the label has been so accommodating and supportive, very excited for the future of 156 with Pure Noise!"
Regarding the song, the band stated, "Our parting ways will always come together. The spaces left between what was and what is hold a place of their own to be remembered with grace. As the pages decrease in our story, we bleed to gain access to the memories of the path we once shared."
If fans were afraid that the signing to the record label would change their sound, rest assured, it did not. This is still 156/Silence to their core. When you hear the song and then also see what the band has shared about the song, it is hard not to think about their bass player, Lukas Booker, who sadly passed away. Throughout their tour with Silent Planet and Invent Animate, the entire tour was dedicated to Booker. It shows how much of a pillar he is in their sound and their music. It is hard for anyone to continue on when they lose someone close to them, but 156/Silence has honored Booker in every way they can, and that in itself is so beautiful.
