Florida based alt-legends Yellowcard are counting down the days until the release of their highly-anticipated return album “Better Days”. In the meantime, the band has just instated the fourth release of this album cycle, a track titled ‘Bedroom Posters’. During this run, the band has dropped some bangers already including the title track, the catchy ‘Take What You Want’, and the circle pit-worthy ‘honestly i’. This new release definitely brings the vibes of former records to mind, perhaps their 2011 release ‘When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes’ to be specific.
This new single showcases the thoughts and memories vocalist Ryan Key has of his hometown. He says in a quote, ‘Have you ever come back to visit your hometown and felt crushed by all the memories that led up to the day you left? Have you ever felt like settling down somewhere meant giving up your dream? If so, ‘Bedroom Posters’ is for you.” It showcases a sense of vulnerability in the songwriting that is sure to be relatable for most, if not, all listeners.
The upcoming album release will be the band's first in almost a decade, dropping on October 10, just in time for them to set sail as main support for fellow Florida juggernauts ‘A Day To Remember’. The band once called it a career in the spring of 2017, and only returned a few years ago. They’ve emphasized before that it would be pointless to make a new album unless it was the best of their career, and judging off of the singles we’ve received so far, it is indeed looking like that will be the case. Allowing things to come natural, refusing to rush the process, and recruiting fellow pop punk legend Travis Barker to aid as the producer, the long-awaited release is guaranteed to be more than worth the wait, with Ryan Key stating that he felt like he was 19 all over again when writing this record. As exciting of a time as it is for pop punk music and the scene in general, it is exceptionally an exciting time for die hard fans of Yellowcard, with the rollout in full force and the release just weeks away.
