We Came As Romans Returns With New Metal Anthem "Bad Luck"

On Thursday, April 17th, 2025 -  metalcore titans We Came As Romans have made their return today with a jaw dropping new single, “Bad Luck” via Sharptone Records. We Came As Romans is a five piece metalcore band formed from Michigan in 2005. The band currently consists of members Dave Stephens (vocals), Joshua Moore (guitars), Lou Cotton (guitars), Andy Glass (bass) and lastly David Puckett (drums). You can view the visualizer below.

The band has unveiled several powerful albums including 'Tracing Back Roots' from 2013, 'Cold Like War' from 2017 and many more to be mentioned. During their time as a band, they have faced a tragic passing of their original vocalist Kyle Pavone in 2018. The band honored Pavone's legacy by unleashing their 2022 album titled 'Darkbloom', which honestly marks as one of their heaviest and most brutal album to date. The album has features from Zero 9:36 on the track "Daggers", Caleb Shomo from Beartooth on the track "Black Hole". This album proved to fans that this was just the revival of the band and they will continue to have Pavone in their thoughts while writing.

“Bad Luck is a song that is so important to each of us. Lyrically, it’s about our journey as a band since the very beginning. We’ve faced so many setbacks and problems behind the scenes, and sometimes it feels like Bad Luck is all we have — but the way that we’ve persevered through all of them to become who we are today is the real story, not the issues along the way.”

-Dave Stephens (vocals)

Since the release of "Bad Luck", this brand new single marks the band's first ever release of 2025 which symbolizes a new era of We Came As Romans since their 2022 album 'Darkbloom'. Days prior to the release, We Came As Romans shared fans a link that leads to a website where you can roll the dice. Depending on the number that was pulled, fans were able to have a listening to the track; the number pulled was the amount of seconds you had of the song. Unfortunately with my luck, I pulled three seconds on the dice. "Bad Luck" begins with a looped vocal sample before taking the next step and unleashing a heavy, but catchy riff, accompanied by Glass's bass line. Fans can feel some nostalgia when listening to this new single since they kept the melodies and the instrumentals similar to previous albums they have released. The song symbolizes the themes of struggle, surviving as well as overcoming those struggles one has faced during their life. It's about gaining back that strength you once had. I cannot wait to see what We Came As Romans has to give us in the future of the music scene.
